Touching Lives, India: Our Partner for 2025-2027

For more than two decades, Touching Lives has been transforming the lives of children, youth, and women from humble backgrounds.

Through their focus on education, mental health, and the arts, they bridge educational gaps, create safe spaces for mental well-being, and equip individuals with life skills to thrive.

Their vision is to improve quality of life, promote financial independence, and nurture conscious, responsible citizens, ultimately helping communities break free from the intergenerational cycle of poverty.

With CHF 200, you don’t just fund a classroom—you change a childhood.

building a learning& Activity center

EDUCATION | MENTAL HEALTH | ART

Touching Lives Learning And Activity Centre have provided safe space for children to learn, heal, and grow. From 2008 to 2021, in the suburbs of Mumbai, the centers offered a refuge from the harsh realities of slum life, providing education, life skills, vocational support, counseling, and scholarships. During COVID-19, the entire project moved online to continue supporting the children.

As Touching Lives sets a new center, they will play a crucial role in helping children build resilience and thrive.

Independent Learner’s Program (ILP) + Care Program:

Through the Independent Learner’s Program - a unique afterschool model that blends academics, emotional well-being, and life-skills, Touching Lives supports children aged 5–25, many of whom are first-generation learners.

The program guides them across five stages: Beginners, Foundation, Transit, Dream Project, and Alumni.

The curriculum is holistic: literacy and numeracy, academic support, values-based life-skills, mindfulness, play-based learning, and reflection circles.

Beyond education there is Care Program where children receive counseling and therapies, self-work and healing tools, emotional regulation practices, and exposure to creative arts.

Parents, especially mothers join healing circles and graduate from the a year-long Self-Work program, ensuring change reaches homes and communities.

Together, this approach nurtures independent learners, resilient families, and empowered communities.

The education and mental health is executed by highly qualified mentors and experts.

Impact:

The impact is tangible: children complete their formal education, shifting attitudes of the families and communities seeing education as a necessity for change, children pursue higher education and vocations, graduates have secured jobs, moved from slums to rented apartments, received grants and scholarships, participated in international exchange programs, and completed their degrees—all while daring to pursue their dreams, living better quality of life and becoming conscious and humble human being.

The program is  proof that when a child is supported, the entire family, and often the entire community, rises with them.
