vision
We envision a world where giving and receiving are part of the same conscious flow, where changemakers and communities collaborate to create lasting social impact. Through shared responsibility and awakened compassion, we strengthen lives, nurture connection, and build a sustainable legacy of care for generations to come.
Our HISTORY
Touching Lives, India was founded in 2003 by Sonia Mackwani with the core value that "it is our need to serve rather than merely saying we are serving the needy." Over the past 20 years, Touching Lives has focused on creating safe spaces for children and communities, raising awareness around education and mental health in both urban and rural areas. Through its learning and community centers, it has provided education, mental health support, and life skills programs for children, mothers, and families. Many children who once had no access to education have completed their master’s degrees and have become independent, breaking the cycle of generational-poverty and emerging from vulnerable environments. This success has deepened Touching Lives' commitment to shifting community mindsets.
Rooted in the philosophy of Self-Work, Seva (Serving), and Sadhana (Practices), Touching Lives has positively impacted countless individuals and families, contributing to the vision of collective consciousness and evolution. Personal evolution is integral to collective change and vice versa. In 2019, the seed of Touching Lives was planted in Basel, Switzerland, alongside co-founder Sadik Keshwani, a constant supporter since its inception in India.
In 2023, Touching Lives Switzerland was officially registered as an association, committed to bridging gaps and cultivating a deeper sense of community and belonging in the world.
We believe in conscious giving where a beautiful eco-system of care and support helps nurture lives and promises a better future.
